Why did Clique83 build dating without swiping?
Dating without swiping grew from a problem our founders understood personally: people still wanted to meet someone, while the process of finding that person increasingly felt like work.
Clique83 was founded in Vietnam by Han Lam and Thuy Doanova.
Before Clique83 developed into the dating company it is today, both founders were already looking closely at a problem facing modern singles.
Han Lam shared with VnExpress that work and responsibilities left her with little time to date or meet people outside her existing circle. Thuy Doanova later described the original problem behind Clique83 in similarly simple terms: singles were tired of swiping and often did not know where to meet new people outside the social circles they already had.
That experience helped shape a broader belief behind Clique83: Dating started to feel lonelier than being single.
